Analysis of characters in Thriller films

The characters in any film are critical as they themselves are the story, and through them we come to relate to the story, viewing their struggles and passions. Especially in the case of thriller films we see the story through the eyes of our protagonist.  This is the case in the film ‘Children of Men’, where we follow the main character throughout the film, and when his story ends, so does ours.

We can split the characters in these films into a few categories which I will dissect in order.  Some films may have either a select number or even all of the positions in this list filled; some however will have a small select cast.
These are:

·       The Main Character(s) (or protagonist(s))

·       Supporting cast

·       The Villain (or antagonist)

·       The Anti-Hero
